Newsletter No 14 Wednesday 16th May 2018

Dear Parents,

All the children are working very hard this term. Thank you for your support with this. This week our Year 6 children are completing their SATS test. We wish them all continued good luck.

Children are supervised at school after 8.30am in the morning. Children should NOT be on site before this time unless they are in breakfast club. If they are on site then they will be unsupervised and will not be safe.

Extra-Curricular Clubs: Clubs will finish on Friday 18th May.

Warmer weather: In warmer weather, please remember to put sun cream on your child before school and remind them to bring a sunhat. We now have large canopies on the field so that the children are able to be in the shade if they are too warm.

Sports day 2018: This will be on Friday 25th May at the Military stadium. A separate newsletter with information will be sent soon.

150th Anniversary events:  Miss Hawkes and Mrs Williams, our History and Geography co-ordinators, are organising a ‘Step back in Time day’ for the children. This will take place on Tuesday 5th June. On Friday 6th July, all staff and children are going to have a celebration day at Aldershot Cricket Club.  More information to follow. Our open air mass and picnic is on Friday 8th June at 11.00am.

Breakfast and Teatime Club Parents’ surveys: In order to review these services, after half term we are going to conduct parents’ surveys for these valuable clubs. Please do take time to complete them.

Healthy Schools: Next year we are going to look at how we can help the children to develop a better understanding of being healthy and how to make healthier choices.

Farnham Netball Club – 12 Hour Charity Netball Match

Farnham Netball Club have set themselves a challenge of playing 12 hours of non-stop Netball to raise money and awareness for two charities that have deeply affected members of the club. The charities are MIND, The Mental Health Charity (working to make sure nobody has to face a mental health problem alone) and TAMBA (Twins and Multiple Births Association) towards their Bereavement Group.

As this has affected members of our St Joseph’s family, staff wanted to show their support and have entered 2 teams to take part. The event will be on 1st July 2018 at St Nicholas School, Fleet.
