Newsletter No 12 Tuesday 27th March

HOLY WEEK:

As we journey through Holy Week this week, we have been remembering the importance of this week to us as Catholics. Each Junior year group has been reflecting on a particular event of Holy Week. Thank you for attending and helping the children to understand the significance of this time. Father Anthony has asked that you keep the blessed palms for Ash Wednesday next year.

Thank you for all your reverence as part of our Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament during these liturgies. We are very lucky to be able to have Adoration in school and I am so glad that so many people took the opportunity to take part. Thank you to all the children and teachers who prepared the liturgies and to Father Anthony and Deacon Craig. Please remember to try and say a prayer at 3.00pm on Good Friday to remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us and to prepare yourselves for the ‘Good News’ on Easter Sunday. The Easter message is essentially one of Hope. Easter Sunday represents the start of a new beginning, where we can look forward rather than dwelling on the past.  Then enjoy and celebrate HE IS RISEN! Alleluia! The promise remains and we would ask you to try to remember this with your family over the Easter period. We wish you all a happy and holy Easter and look forward to greeting you back after the holidays.

Lent and Mission: Every Friday during Lent, one child from each phase group will be awarded a very special Headteacher’s Mission award. These will be chosen by our Phase leaders: Mrs Nash (EY), Mrs Render (Year 1 and 2), Mrs Geen (Years 3 and 4) and Mrs Smith (Years 5 and 6). The child who receives the award will have demonstrated our mission by the way that they behave and act in school.

Our recent mission award winners were: Sofia Kelly and Reese Lawrence (EY)

Maia Direito Suarez and Daniela Gomolka (Year 1/2)

Eloise Lowe and Helayna Yates (Y3/ 4)

Lance Discion and Faith James (Y5/6)

A big congratulations to these children. They have now created a fish to go on our ‘Fishers of Men’ display in St Joseph’s hall. Please come and look at them.
