Tuesday 6th February

Safeguarding Week: Thank you to the staff who organised the successful week and for your support.

 

Friday 9th February: This Friday is a free mufti day and children can be picked up from 1.45pm.

 

Dinner Staff: We are still looking for Lunch time staff and a Kitchen assistant. If you are interested please contact the school office.

 

Target Setting Evenings:

Target setting evenings are taking place on this week. At this meeting you will have an opportunity to see your child’s books. Please also take the time to fill out our parents’ questionnaire which will be available on both evenings.

 

Design Technology Display:

Examples of pupils’ work will be on display in the library on both target setting evenings. Work on our new food technology and Design Technology room will start over the half term.

 

Extra-Curricular Clubs: There are no clubs this week. Clubs start again after term (w/b 19th February).

 

Collecting children / bringing them back to school: If you collect your child from school (e.g. hospital appointment or for illness) they must now be signed out officially using our screen in Reception. Similarly they must be signed back in once they are returned, thanks for your help with this.

 

Cold Weather:

The children may wear tracksuit bottoms for P E and please wrap up the children to keep them warm.

 

Parents’ Courses:

We still have some spaces available on our training courses. The courses are about maths, Year 2 expectations, grammar and mindfulness. You will find them very informative. Please go onto our school website to book.

 

Science Week:

Science week is the week beginning 26th February and our focus is investigating.

 

150th Anniversary:

  1. We are still looking for nominations for our “Tube Map” if you have any nominations for former pupils then please let us know. We are also looking for any photos of St. Joseph’s Junior school in St. Joseph’s Road, affectionately known as the HUTS!
  2. After half term all the pupils will be decorating a stone to go around our new statue of St. Joseph. Parents will also have an opportunity to take part so watch this space.
  3. We will also be looking for volunteers to help us walk pupils back and forth to St. Joseph’s church on 19th March to celebrate St. Joseph’s Day with Bishop Philip.

 

Ash Wednesday:

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which this year falls in half term (Wednesday 14th February). We will be reflecting on this liturgical season with the children when we return after half term.

 

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THIS HALF TERM

Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th February – Parents’ evening 4.30pm – 7.30pm

Friday 9th February Mufti Day – Last day of the half term; PICK UP FROM 1.45PM ONWARDS

Monday 19th February – Return for next half term

Sports day: Friday 25th May 2018 – Aldershot Military Stadium
